About Me
You know the question, “What’s the best gift you’ve ever gotten?” I know the answer, without doubt or hesitation: A dance lesson.
My mother, a teacher and arts supporter, took me to my first lesson when I was 5 years old, and opened my eyes to the fascinating, hard-working, creative and beautiful world of dance.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in Virginia Beach, my heart belongs to both cities. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the most talented teachers, choreographers and dancers on the East Coast. Including:
- Ann Catherine Cross School of Dance
- Governor’s School for the Arts
- Bobbi & Helen School of Dance
- Denise Wall’s Dance Energy
- New York City Dance Alliance
- Virginia Musical Theatre Inc.
- Richmond Ballet
- Virginia Commonwealth University Dance Department
I graduated in 2008 from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I was a member of the VCU Gold Rush dance team. Currently, I am studying Dance Education at Old Dominion University and teaching at Central Virginia Dance Academy. I teach the following styles, to dancers of all levels and ages:
- Jazz
- Tap
- Hip-Hop
- Musical Theater
- Improvisation
- Contemporary
- Lyrical
Dance has been the constant in my life, through ups and downs, surprises and the inevitable, dance has always been right there.
I once had a dance teacher say to me, “Once you discover you have a talent, you have the responsibility to train, perfect, and share that talent.” I’ll never forget that.
